Sunflowers . Sunlight . Solar Energy - E.K. Powe Elementary School - Durham North Carolina
I designed this project to teach children about alternative energy. Science and art concepts were integrated to create a lively and informative mural. In science class second grade students built solar cars, cooked in a solar oven and viewed movies about different kinds of energy. In art class these same students drew with simple shapes and painted a small drawing of their mural. The whole school participated in painting the large mural.
